You are 100% right about SEAG and Cougnut. They never got the loved they deserved. I stay posting songs from Seagram on youtube. Mac Dre didn't really "branch out" to Alaska and Kansas. He had connects, but he never left the Bay. Sac is the only place he ever went. 40 for a period of time stop working with Bay Area ppl, and focused on the rest of the game. That is branching out.

Naw man I'm not trying to penalize 40 for branching out the Bay. But Mac Dre epitomizes what Bay Area music is, and was. He had the underground on LOCK before E-40 was even known in the Bay. Mac Dre was the first to put Vallejo on the map. Dre was the true Bay Area trendsetter. Not saying that 40 isn't, because everybody knows that damn near everything out 40's mouth is something new. Still, Dre is more of a Bay legend in my mind that 40 is. 40 is a Westcoast legend, Dre is a Bay legend.

Mac Dre branched out to Kansas (where part of his family lives) & to Alaska and few other places as well, but not as much as 40. Either way they are both huge influences in the Bay, But most of the time now a days id rather listen to some cougnut. Ur probably right about Dre rapping longer than 40, Mac Dre had an Earlier Release, but E-40 was also in College at that time & was rapping out there in Louisianna. But it depends on what you think makes you a Legend. Does keeping it ALL in the bay and not branching out make you a bigger bay legend, or does going to different areas of the nation & spreading your music so the bay gets recognition else where make you a bigger bay legend?
