I know obama has said those things about it not happening in the next four years. My big point (and I probably should have made it clearer) was how many people that voted for obama understand that it's not going to be immediate (if it ever does happen, period). I think the $4000 for community service... if anyone is going to provide it, it should be on a state (preferably local) level. There are already a ton of ways for students to get a free education, and the number one way is good grades.

I know that may seem crazy, but I live in Michigan and we got hit hard by the jobs leaving the country. I guess he figures taxing the businesses high is a threat, but they can lessen their taxes by bringing jobs back home. Thats how I understood it. Obama has admitted to that things won't happen for the first four years in many of his debates he mentioned 10 years for a lot of his changes to take place. College students won't go to school for free, they will get 4,000 dollars, or something like that in exchange for community service. Idk about taxes we know they will go up we have a heavy debt. I agree, there needs to be a revival of conservative values within the Republican party. Going to the middle ground in order to try and get independents and 'conservative' Democrats was/is a big mistake. I don't know of any better way to have knowledge of something than to have experienced it first hand. My dad's family has a lot of Amish people in it. I spent many days as a kid with Amish people. I worked for an Amish guy at his farm. I've been there, done that when it comes to the Amish. Plus, where I'm from Amish are EVERYWHERE. You can't go somewhere without running into them. I grew up around them, so I'm quite familiar with their beliefs and customs. Hope that helped! :)

They should have called it off. The weather was bad, the field was bad, and today in Philly wasn't any better. It was SNOWING until 1:00. Yes, those are the rules. However, in a situation such as this the Commissioner is given the option to suspend the game even if the team trailing hasn't had at least 5 at bats. There is no way in hell MLB would have given the Phillies the series without playing the completion of this game. Talk about a PR nightmare. It's a suspended game. That's how it works. That's as fair as you can get it.

The rules of baseball say the trailing team must be given 5 innings to bat until the game can be called and given to the leading team. Had the game been called after the bottom of the 5th when it became unplayable then the Phillies would have been given the series. However They decided to play though the 6 when the game was tied and the call the game IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 6? Why? Now when the game resumes it is like playing a 3 and a 1/2 inning game. With the Philles batting First and last.

And I thought the Angels actually played pretty well last night, but the Red Sox just came up with all of the clutch hits, and clutch outs. No, I realized how talented they really are...I did say it was the 2 best teams in baseball meeting in the first round. :) I give the Red Sox credit. They've capitalized when the Angels have made mistakes and they've had some big hits. Pissed me off when Drew hit the game winner last night...where the hell was his determination when he was with my Cardinals?!! People don't realize just how talented those young guys, Lester, Papelbon, Pedroia, Ellsbury, Youkillis, Masterson, and Lowrie are. They've got depth where I'm confident that even if Lowell and Drew aren't healthy enough to continue, they've got guys like Casey, Crisp, Kotsay, on that bench to come in and contribute. And Beckett is just fine, just a little gamesmanship. Wait till Sunday and we'll see how healthy he is.

Dude... I said Perez isn't ready. Look at my discussion with NealPage1. He's advocating we let Perez close. I SAID HE'S NOWHERE NEAR READY! Don't question my baseball fandom or how much I love the Cardinals, please. That bothers me to a great extent. There is no earthly thing (besides my wife) that I love more than the Cardinals and baseball in general. I said sign Fuentes, I DO NOT want to see Perez close next year.

For what it's worth Elias.... The Cardinals offered Ankiel for Putz. Apparently ownership is afraid of the contract he will be asking for when he becomes a free agent this next off-season. Sounds reasonable but I just can't imagine trading a guy like Ankiel. Too much sentimental attachment for me.

It's because of intangibles. Stats are important, but they aren't the most important thing. When you rely solely on statistics, you run into the risk of having a very rigid team, and a team is something molded over time. Tony usually uses the right mix of stats and feeling when he manages. I said it last year and I'll say it now. Perez or Motte (and Motte would be a better closer if he can command the zone) will be ready in a year or two. Until then, give me Fuentes.

I don't understand why you'd rather see him in the 7th or 8th rather than the 9th? His numbers in the 9th inning last year were pretty solid. He allowed a few more hits than in the 8th but his BB/9 totals OBAAgainst were much lower. Like I said, Perez has come out and said he's more comfortable in the 9th. This guy is a rare breed. Someone that is born to close games. Perhaps that is why he was a 1st round pick.

I watch every Cardinals game and Perez is not ready to close, trust me. He does not have the mental aspect of closing games right now. The reason the Rockies couldn't trade Fuentes is because they were asking for a kings ransom in return. They wanted 2 top prospects plus one or two quality young major league ready players. That's not realistic for a 2 month rental. Don't forget, the Rockies also felt like they were in contention in that horrible NL West.

It doesn't seem too likely you could get much in a trade. Fuentes will be a 34 year old with 11 mil left on his contract when trading him becomes a real option. The Rockies couldn't get a solid offer for him at the deadline when teams could have gotten 2 draft picks in compensation if they failed to sign him to an extension. I don't think it's a stupid deal for 3 years mostly because he's another proven arm in the bullpen. Frankly, I've seen Perez a lot and he's not ready to step in as the full time closer. At least not this year. Motte is better suited for that role, but he's still raw. I'd rather them sign Fuentes and let the other guys feel their way around. If you feel like they can do the job after a year or two, Fuentes could bring something of value in a trade..

He understands its a waste of money when a combo of Chris Perez/Jason Motte/Josh Kinney could probably do a solid job in 2010. If Fuentes would accept a 1 year deal, MO would probably get it done. 3 years? Its kinda stupid. Why draft Perez in the 1st round if you aren't going to give him a chance?

Screw the Red Sox, and Red Sox nation. I'm actually predicting the rays to win tonight (Game 7). I just don't think that Lester has the stuff right now and Matt Garza has actually been keeping the Rays in the game this series. Us Rays fans are begging are lifes for Garza to go Seven Innings with letting up one run. You could be right though about your prediction.

I can understand your point, and it is well taken. I actually grew up next door to a family that was from New England and were big Red Sox fans. I've also been to Fenway several times, and my opinion is based on my observations. It's a generalization, which probably isn't a good thing. There are SOME true Red Sox fans. I think I'm going to post a video clarifying my Red Sox hatred...

Look, dude, upon watching a couple more of your videos I can say that regardless of what a bunch of schmucks want to say, you do come off as being a pretty knowledgeable guy. That being said, I think the Boston hate is a little unjustified. I mean, dude, you say your hometown is in Iowa and you live in Kentucky...how many Boston fans do you really know? I know we have a pretty vast demographic, but I find it hard to believe that the clutches of RS nation extend that far.

You're right. This is what happens when experience and inexperience meet. As a sox fan, it's like Game 7 2003 against the Yanks. The sox were the more inexperienced team, and when it came down to whether or not to move on or move out, the team that had been in that situation more times then the sox knew how to take care of business, and manage the talent set.

Agreed up until your point with the Sox coming back against teams with no post season history. The Yankees series coming back from 3-0, and then winning their final eight. The Rays definetly have been trying too hard for the long ball, which will be the deciding factor in game 7. If Lester is on his game, and the Rays do not change their approach to the plate, series over. Phils vs. Sox '08.

GO SOX!!!! Sox fans are the most passionate of all fans. I hate it when the drunk ones that become boisterous ruin the image for others. We are the ONLY fans that will STAY in our seats until the game is over. Had the Rays been down 7-0 in the 7th inning at the trop, there would have only been those 200 that were there opening day.
