I remember reading that their is a law in the us from like 1928 that states that any signal sent through the air could not be encrypted except for government use. since it uses the radio spectrum is condsidered a natural resource .I also read in the same artical that hbo lobbied congress to change this law in 1984 because of all the big dishes people were buying at that time to get free tv. so they changed the wording to "cable satilite programming" to get around the law. So who is screwing who?

Getting all the porn, pay-per-view, and premium channels for free is illegal! You should not buy a free-to-air receiver and a dish network satellite dish. You should not reprogram the receiver to receive all the channels for free. You should not download a hacked firmware called "fta bin file" to a usb stick and then plug it into the free-to-air receiver to update firmware. The receiver will now decrypt all of dish networks channels and that would be 100% illegal.
