All it really needs is some sort of method for generating ideas, producing tests, and comparing that to the hypothesis. I'm not sure here, but why would you need free will in say, an example where new evidence came along that contradicted your view. Surely that causation would lead to you changing your view (if you're open minded)

Also, where does Dawkins claim he has a problem with free will? I'd be surprised if he has any definite answer to this, as the question of free will, including libertarian free will, compatabilism etc is hardly solved yet, and I've heard and read Dawkins say many times that we do not and may never fully understand conciousness. Also, one of his best friends, Dennett, is a compatabilist I believe, and they agree on a lot. This isn't a definite refutation, I'm just curious.
