So has the Bible stood the test of time? Absolutely. This book is amazing. It is 66 books written by 40 diffent men over a period of about 1600 years and it all fits together perfectly. It is the number 1 best seller of all time period. It has been translated into 1200 different languages and dialects. Here is what I find interesting. Nobody seems to be attacking those books. Not like people do the Bible, that's for sure. Thousands of people including many of the authors of the Bible were brutally tortured and put to death because they believed the Bible. I'm living proof that it does work if you are sincere. The Bible says Knock and the Door will be open, seek and you will find. I think one of the biggest problems most people have in trying to find God is that they want to come do God on their terms, not his. God sent his very son to earth to do crazy things like feeding 5000 people with a couple pieces of bread and fish. I'm not saying it was a million people leaving Egypt. However, Moses lived over 100 years. So did Joshua. Abraham lived over 100 years and so did Joseph. So I chose 50 years as an average rather than 30 or 40. Doing the math with those numbers brings the Israelites leaving Egypt (considering those who settled east of the Jordan and the numbers lost in the desert) to nearly 100k out of Egypt and 60k by the time they reach Edom. I am still questioning whether a band of marauders the size of the population of Xenia, Ohio could travel for a number of years without leaving a huge amount of evidence. Surely they didn't camp exclusively in flood plains, so the remains of fires and coprolites should be apparent all over the place. You don't know how wrong you are. 1) Creationism states that god created the world in 6 days. After the six days humans were running around on the earth. Evolution states humans were evolved from simpler species over billions of years. See the difference? 2) Actually Creationism was taken out of the schools because Creationism is a Christian belief it's not science. So they didn't JUST change the name, they changed the whole idea. Yes I know about convergence and divergence and I've had much calculus. I was trying to show how his conclusion was wrong. My statement was not well thought out and I should not have posted it. A good answer I can think of though is to come to the conclusion that there is a first event you have to presuppose there can be a first event. I could say that no event can happen without a cause. I'm sorry but my understanding of QM is not very good. Probably not the best for me to try to argue a point that can be explained by it. I have a problem with the conclusion of the first cause argument. It assumes it conclusion in its premises. I do believe that there was a starting point to everything,I just think think that it cannot be proven.For example it is possible that there is some kind of cyclical time where no matter how you look at it has an infinite time before and after any moment.

I think the easiest way to disprove zeno's paradox is that he assumes that a distance can be divided into infinitely small segments, but as we now know from quantum mechanics, this is false since deviding space breaks down at the planck lenght. So there is always a finite amount of planck lenghts between 2 points

I was just trying to show time is continuous, like the number line. It seems to me like you are assuming that there must be a smallest division of time that can get no smaller and you are summing these. If you read about relativity you can see that one person can experience time differently than another, if they are going fast enough events outside their frame of reference seems to take an infinite amount of time. Anyways its just my understanding.

ok let me show you how your logic is wrong. this video lasted 3 minutes and 1 second right? To get to the end of the video we have to first watch the first half. To get to the first half we have to watch the first quarter, and then an eight, and so on... You eventually get to a point where you are saying that you are watching this video in an infinite amount of sections. How would it be possible for me to watch an infinite amount of sections? actually nerdbombs, we ourselves pretty much know all the numbers since it is just a potential, if you know 0 to 10 you already know all the numbers themselves and since you how they are constructed you can know what they would look like in any order. Now we cant think of them at once ofcourse. And as far as I know, the whole point is that infinity is only a concept adopted by the mind and since god would be a mind that would fit so thats not really a good argument
