Thanks for the great comment! This painting is one of my favorites. I love the texture and roughness with a ballance of smooth features, not to mention the subject is my daughter...so whats not to love! I did this painting in three sittings, it was a lot of fun. Thanks for checking it out!

Well you have to clean your brush very well after using it...first with thinner, then with soap and warm water. I use my brushes for many things. :) I do use other things like linseed oil and liquin to create glazes, but thinner will do the job too.

i tried it before... and it ruined my brush... maybe that brush was just for watercolor!! That was a very good brush... oh... the soft bristles it used to have.. huhuhu(T_T) haha!! and i didn't have a canvas so i painted on a rug... LOL... so that liquid is just thinner... i thought it was something else... haha!

hey thanks for stoppin by! Oil painting is a wonderful medium to learn, you should try it for sure! You can use the brushes you already have. I say buy a tube of black and a tube of white, with thinner and go for it!

I never stick with one brand of brush and thats one thing that I never buy online. I like to buy my brushes in store, because I pick them by how they feel and for the paiting/medium/canvas I will be working with. This paiting I used the softest brushes to avoid brush strokes. The long thin brush is a liner:)

whats new ?! I rode on a train for the first time, long trip, nearly 4 hours- 1 way, like 6 stops along the route. Abit scary comin back, lightning hit the train at one point :S we ok tho.. I also went to a zoo, it was lightly storming, & as we were ready to leave the aquarium, it flooded, :O The storm brought tons of rain & the drains werent workin, we ended walking through water above ankles.. I had fun, jus too mucht time traveling total travel time for all events 14 hrs. You ?

Excellent video, Amanda. I thank God I live where I do. And the news... the news... I rarely watch news. When 911 happened I was on my way to work and heard it on the radio. It was unbelievable. It seemed I watched a ton of news for weeks after. To this day I wonder what REALLY happened that tragic day. Your 'freedom' that you showed us is similar to my own. Peace to you and yours :)

WOW, Where is "home" ? if its ok to ask. Its rather cold here (NC) this morning, in the 30's BUT high is post to be near 70, no work again today so, God Willin, I'm gonna meet a couple Friends at the zoo, take some pics and socialize, should be a nice day!
